    Diplomacy and dialogue are at the heart of the Doha Forum – FM

    HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, has expressed his desire to kick off the activities of the 20th Doha Forum. In his view, over the years the Doha Forum has developed into a global platform for diplomacy, dialogue, and development, becoming an arena to discuss solutions to international challenges.

    Diplomacy and dialogue are at the heart of the Doha Forum - FM“We look forward to launching the 20th edition of Doha Forum under the kind patronage of His Highness the Amir of State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. Over the years, Doha Forum has evolved into a global platform for diplomacy, dialogue and development, becoming an arena to discuss solutions for international challenges,” the FM said on Twitter.

    Leaders in policy will discuss critical challenges facing our world during the two-day Doha Forum, which is themed Transforming for a New Era. This will be the 20th year since the forum was first established to promote the exchange of ideas, discourse, policymaking, and action-oriented recommendations.

    EGFR Mutation Significantly Elevates Lung Cancer Risk

    A rare inherited genetic variation can increase an individual’s overall likelihood of developing lung cancer by approximately 25 times and by about 60 times among non-smokers, as reported in a study published in the journal Science. The research, a collaboration between investigators at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the 23andMe Research Institute, analyzed anonymized genomic data from over 3.3 million people. The scientists identified the germline mutation, known as EGFR T790M, as one of the most potent inherited risk factors for lung cancer found so far.
